Rhett Wimberly joins the Lake Charles Care Center staff as Administrator. Mr. Wimberly is a graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a bachelor's degree  in business administration and a major concentration in management. As a licensed administrator, he brings years of experience in long-term care to our facility. Prior to joining Lake Charles Care Center, Mr. Wimberly held the position of Administrator of Savoy Care Center located in Mamou, La. In his position as Administrator, Mr. Wimberly is dedicated to providing compassionate care to each and every resident of Lake Charles Care Center.

 

 

Teressa Laughlin, RN
Director of Nursing

Teressa Laughlin serves as the Director of Nursing at Lake Charles Care Center. In this position, she is primarily responsible for ensuring the quality of care for each resident, as well as monitoring the systems and nursing protocols of the facility and providing ongoing education to the nursing staff. Ms. Laughlin's professionalism and organizational skills are an enhancement to the nursing management team at Lake Charles Care Center.

 

 

 

Elizabeth Galt joined the Lake Charles Care Center staff in February 2009 as Marketing Director. As a graduate of McNeese State University, Ms. Galt holds a BS in education with an emphasis in family and life studies. In addition to teaching, she brings eight years of sales and marketing experience to her position. Ms. Galt provides a personal connection with our residents and families by serving as a liaison between Lake Charles Care Center and the community we serve.

 

 

 

 

 

Regina Darbonne recently joined the Lake Charles Care Center staff as Admissions Coordinator. A graduate of McNeese State University, Ms. Darbonne holds a bachelors degree in sociology. With nineteen years of health care experience, she has served in social services and case management positions in both acute and long term acute care settings. As admissions coordinator, Ms. Darbonne oversees the admissions process for all new residents and assists them with making the right decisions about their care. 

 

 

 

Rodney Daniels serves as the Social Services Director for Lake Charles Care Center. He brings nine years of long-term care experience with the skilled nursing facility population to his position. A graduate of the University of Michigan, Mr. Daniels holds a bachelor's and master's degree. As an experienced professional for over 36 years, Mr. Daniels has served the community in several capacities such as, a mental health professional, a behavioral management specialist, a substance abuse therapist and a Qualified Mental Retardation Professional (Q.M.R.P.). In his role as Social Services Director, Mr. Daniels acts as an advocate for residents and their families, while ensuring that all residents receive quality care in the long-term care setting.

 

 

 

Dr. Mir Khan, a resident of Lake Charles, has served as the Medical Director for Lake Charles Care Center since January of 2007. Dr. Khan is associated with The Clinic, where he has practiced since 2001. Having involvement in the nursing home industry for more than six years, Dr. Khan is very familiar with the people and processes surrounding long-term care and brings unique expertise in caring for the residents of Lake Charles Care Center. Dr. Khan shares the values of Lake Charles Care Center by providing the best medical care possible for our residents, in a kind, compassionate and friendly atmosphere.
